I love the challenge of abstracts as I find it difficult knowing how to start a painting
without an image to work from. It’s also a good challenge to still consider
composition and balance of tones and colours etc, even though the image doesn’t
represent anything tangible. I’ve given up trying to consider good or bad, and now
just work on ‘do I like it or not’.
