The first thing that I really enjoyed painting was the traditional oil
landscape. This lasted a while, until oils were gradually replaced by
acrylics. However, after a few years I reached the point where I felt I
had reached the limit of my ability. Certainly not that I was perfect, but
just that I couldn’t improve. So I moved on to other things. Now I just
go back to landscapes as a bit of relief from other subjects.
